Services – Roof Restoration
You may decide to restore your roof to extend its life or improve the appearance of your home. Restoration is performed on tiled roofs that require re-bedding and re-pointing of the mortar, have broken and chipped tiles or have faded and old looking tiles.
PJ Coatings has developed a ten-step procedure for superior Roof Restoration.
What is our ten-step procedure?
- Replace (or repair) all broken / cornered tiles and capping
- Check, secure and coat all flashings, valleys and roof penetrations
- Source and rectify leaks as noted
- High pressure clean the roof to eliminate all oxidisation, moss and dirt
- Clean out all valleys, gutters and downpipes
- Re-bed and re-point as necessary then seal all ridge capping with flexible mortar
- Seal roof with appropriate sealer or metal roof primer (part one of our unique three coat system)
- Coat entire roof with two coats of your chosen colour (parts two and three of our unique three coat system)
- Clean up and remove waste
- For future repairs, six spare tiles and two litres of paint are available from PJ Coatings
A few things to consider
- Is your roof too old to restore – perhaps you need a new roof construction?
- What kind of roofing would you like – metal Colorbond®, Zincalume®, Custom Orb®, terracotta clay tile or cement tile?
- A professional roof restoration and coating should normally take two to three days – weather permitting
- As part of our quality assurance the preparation and coating is a two-part process and may be completed in separate procedures
